The history and birth of the Aquarium of Cattolica
The Aquarium of Cattolica is located inside buildings erected in 1932 as a marine colony. Inaugurated in 1934, the structures looked like a real naval fleet ready to be launched, with a flagship in the center - the refectory - and two pairs of torpedoes on the sides - the dormitories. The project represented the element that for the futurist state-of-the-art was synonymous with modernity, speed and progress. The Aquarium of Cattolica was born as a result of the restructuring in 1999 at the behest of the Municipality of Cattolica. The structure, protected by the Superintendence of Environmental and Architectural Heritage of Ravenna, represents a unique asset of its kind.THEME ROOM

What you can see at the Aquarium of Cattolica:
In Cattolica the largest aquarium of the Adriatic awaits you with 100 tanks exhibiting 3000 specimens of 400 different species.The park is divided into four paths: blue, yellow, green, purple all to make you witness a sea of colors and fun.
As of 2011 at the Aquarium of Cattolica you can see otters and caimans, but you will also find sea turtles, jellyfish, chameleons, frogs, penguins and large bull sharks will help you to know the sea and love it.

BLUE ROUTE
Over 100 exhibition tanks with 3000 specimens of 400 different species. Sharks, Penguins, Turtles and Jellyfish are just some of the many protagonists of this exciting route.
YELLOW ROUTE
A journey of discovery through the waterways. An incredible new addition, the baby Caimans and the most tender and playful mammals of the animal world: the Otters.
GREEN ROUTE
A world to discover full of thrill and fun with our exotic animals. Be amazed by chameleons, frogs, insects and snakes in a place full of charm and mystery.
VIOLET ROUTE
A unique opportunity to discover the sounds produced by the inhabitants of the seas. Thanks to the tanks on display, you will discover how fish communicate.
